Everyone says don’t dose unless you absolutely need to

You don't need to dose right now. You need to test a few times a week so you get a feel for what your tank is consuming. Once you know that, then you'll know if your water changes are keeping up your alk, if you need to do some manual corrections here and there or if you need something more.

You shouldn’t have to dose yet. When you start adding more stony corals, you will. Especially Duncan’s, they suck up quite a bit of calcium. As for nutrients, phosphate is low, especially for euphyllia. They like dirtier water. Nitrates are fine... my tank runs nitrates 15-20ppm and phosphates at .15. My levels are low compared to wwc’s tanks ;)

Most people that run ultra low phosphates have sps dominant tanks. Lps and zoas will not tolerate ultra low phosphates.
Curious why you think that. I usually consider non 0 below .1 to be just fine with many people narrowing that to between .03 to .05

Don’t listen to that last guy, u have a neon green hammer not a Duncan, an the problem could be many things. It could be flow, lighting, check ur chemical balance. I also see a clown fish in there, they do like to swim in anything that resembles anemones. I have a neon orange an have had it for 6 months. If u really no what ur doing, u could check all these things. If ur not to sure what to do, I would recommend testing ur water or having a company come out an check everything. The first pic is a Duncan, an the second one is my neon orange hammer. They aren’t open yet as I jus turned the lights on for the photo only.

A lot of research has told me the carbon will help with removing a lot of the toxins that corals will add to the water. Especially with the soft corals. I’ve heard it can help clear up the water and remove the yellow tint. To help enhance par on lighting? I’m getting a lot mixed suggestions on what to use and not use
Carbon doesn’t hurt the tank, it only helps it an yes clears the water

Should I add another fish to raise phosphates?

No, that will kill the fish. I don’t qt any of my fish. I have a very reputable lfs that qt’s their fish before they even go into the for sale tanks.
I don’t have a store like that. The LFS by my house gets all their fish from the wild and ICH runs all through their systems. So I don’t buy fish from them. But luckily I do have a coral frag store close by that sells only aquacultured corals captive bred tank raised. They also sell fish but are very limited. All fish are captive bred and quarantined.

You should be able to get captive bred cardinals local. Not very hard to find. Your lfs with aquacultured stuff should have them :)
