Multiply all of those and then divide by 231 and you'll have your gallons.

Roughly 32 gallons.

Roughly 32 gallons.
And if you measure the distances on the inside of the glass, you will get actual gallons in the tank.

That calculates out to 31 Gallons Length 36x height 17x 12depth front to back / 231
Formula (36*17*12)/231 = 31.79 US gallons
You will need to decut for substrate and decorations once set up for actual water volume

Any suggestions for lighting?
This forum is full of every beginners answer possible. Another good source would be BRSTV 52 weeks of reefing.
This hobby will test all your patience. Do it right the first time spend the money up front. if you don't, you'll pay 10 times over in failure.

Any suggestions for lighting?

lighting:
budget:
noopsyche K7 pro
https://www.aquariumspecialty.com/noopsyche-k7-pro-ii-led-light.html

mid range:
photon V2+

2X Ai prime

heigh end
AI 32, 2X radion xrW15s

if it was me and that tank I would prob. go with 2 Ai primes. I have one on my little nano it great.

that said I will have photon V2+ on my RS 750 ( already have) and my WB5526 most likely as well. but the noopsyche are indeed intriguing.
