I've been doing some experimentation in my tank with move the placement of some acro frags. I have this "fire and Ice" zoa patch that has been doing great night or day, wide open, up top in flow. However, I just moved this acro frag on a hill near the zoa patch, it's not really blocking any light, but the Fire and Ice have closed up a lot and this is the most they are opening now.

So, this leads to my question of, Can zoas sense acropora near them and react this way?

This is a before and after picture

If they’re closed then something’s irritating them. I’d keep an eye on them and if they don’t open back up then you could test your theory by moving the acro.

Yeah,I'll give them some time to see how they do. Just thought this was an interesting change as soon as I placed the acro there.
