Tell Frank he can make it, I have deadly Pancreatic Cancer, I found out I had it 1 ½ years ago, since then I had my Gallbladder removed, the head of my Pancreas removed, 32 Lymph Nodes removed, ¼ of my Stomach removed, it’s called Whipple surgery, and I still have cancer in my blood, I have been on Chemo it seems forever, but with the help of the Lord my Fish and Coral hobby somehow keeps me going, the maintenance and testing gives me physical and mental exercise, tell Frank I wish him luck, and I hope he is in the hobby with a tank. Pete.Good morning reef2reef family. I am posting this thread with approval from the reef2reef staff. @revhtree thank you so much for allowing us to post this.
Frank (@fishguy242) has had many recent setbacks in life. Just over a year ago, he was afflicted with an unknown brain condition that caused severe deterioration that the doctors were unsure he would recover from. At one point, there was concern he might not even survive. Miraculously, through lots of hard work, prayer, and positive thoughts, he has made a near full recovery.
Fast forward to today. This incredibly generous, loyal, and sometimes hard-headed friend has yet again received an unfortunate diagnosis. Frank has cancer. The form that he has been diagnosed with is fast-moving and aggressive. He is in the early stages of planning, treatment, and determining just how far along this new challenge is.
Many of you know Frank for his unwavering support of saltwater enthusiasts the world over. His contributions and generosity both in person and on forums such as Reef2Reef cannot be measured. Frank would literally give you the shirt off his back if he was able. I ask you to consider now returning some of that generosity and help Frank.
We are asking for help. Positive thoughts, prayers, and yes, money to assist Frank on this journey. The journey will be long; there will be travel expenses like rental cars, hotel expenses, food, and other miscellaneous expenses he will need help with. Not to mention the treatment itself.
Please consider donating to Frank and his family to ease the burden of this hurdle they face. Together we can make them have a little less to think about.
