Hi guys! For those of you considering the Red Sea Reefer 750 XXL and decide on the Reef Octopus return pump make sure you get the VarioS 8.....NOT the VarioS 6. I let the LFS get my pump because they also brought out my tank etc.....and they got me the S6.....not near enough flow....after I accounted for head height loss of about 4.5 feet it was only putting out 1100 gph or so running the pump at max. The recommended flow for this tank is 1850 gph. So I just installed the S8 and running at max counting for head loss is 2000 gph. It already makes a huge difference! I know....it took me six months to figure it out. LOL! [emoji849][emoji50][emoji45]

Hi all! Well I am totally bummed! I knew my Emperor Angel....any Pomacathis Angel for that matter is a risk with corals....BUT to my surprise I watched him eat my entire twelve inch rose bubble tip nem I have had for 5 years.... before I could intervene....then he started to go after my second RBT that I also had for 5 years!

So I had to move half my rock to catch him. He is now in the sump, and going back to the LFS tomorrow. I really liked the fish, but I have my other large RBT, plus a large rainbow nem, and my haddoni....! I was forgiving him going after my Acans.....but the last straw was my nems. So rough night for sure! I guess I had no idea these guys would go after nems. Another hard lesson in reefing! [emoji849]

@cancun crazy I thought your acans might be on the menu I was about to ask if I should "hold" em for you. :p

but the nems booo. just a beautiful fish to bad it did not work out. even tho I have my nice big tank I still dream of a butterfly angel and tang FOWLR so I can keep the rest of my fav, fish. nothing to big just 180-300 gal should work. ah if only.

my "show" fish is gonna be a CBB really hope I can pull it off. what are you gonna get?
lucky you have LFS close by I could never get away chancing something like that.

LOL! A CBB sounds like a great show piece for your tank! I just dropped him off at my LFS....I am considering a Dejardini tang. I won't risk another large angel.

man i love love LOVE that regal angel. I am so tempted to try one in my 750.
glad you got the tank back together bummer it did not work out with it.
Thanks! Took me a few days to get things back to normal! LOL! I was bummed, but on the other hand I love my nems, and raised most of them from the size of a half dollar.

Yeah it is always a pain to catch fish even big ones! In the process I knocked some corals off there rocks and had to reglue them!

Yeah you should try a Regal. Make sure he us eatting at the LFS first. It doesn't mean it will eat for you at home, but it is a good sign IMO!

Right now I am nursing my second RBT nem back to health. He went after that one before I was able to get him out of the tank. Crazy!

Hi guys! It has been awhile! So I broke down and bought a Clearwater Algae scrubber at the end of September. I love it so far. I run the lights 24/7 on it. I have to harvest algae once a week. So I just do it when I do my weekly water change. Also I had a juvi Koran Angel I raised from 3 to about 6 inches in my 80 gallon. Then I gave him to a LFS. They kept him in there display tank for the last year. Well....they were breaking down that tank and we're going to sell him. So I took him back....guess I don't trust someone to give him a large tank...etc...here are some updated pics....oh you will notice I now only have one Acan colony....I traded them into my LFS....those Angels love Acans. No issue with my Euphyllias though.....

Hi guys! So.....last Saturday I bought this red BT nem from my LFS on their small business Saturday sale....got him for 75.00!!!! After that Emperor Angel destroyed my nems, I wanted a red BT for a long time. I have rainbows, but had a rough time finding a red one. Here are pics....
