Hello,

I'm starting a frag tank with a Fluval Flex 15 and I'm using a 107 Fluval canister filter which is directly connected to a Tunze macro algea reactor which then goes into a return chamber.
Lighting: Fluval Marine 3.0 (from my Flex 32g)
ReelReef: fancy Tonga branch puttied with Carib Sea frag rocks. 15lbs
Tunze nano stream pump.
Aquanatural Oolitic Aragonite dry sand (20lbs)

I removed all the foam from the canister and added dry rock (Carib Sea) and ceramic pellets. I am hoping this set up will work and I will keep everyone updated.

I've wondered about this, it may be ok with the 107 but I'd be concerned about dead zones without the prefilter assembly directing flow to the bottom of the canister so it can come back up through the media baskets.

This is my 20G nano with canister … i rove the sponges and i put a Perlon … that i change every 2-4 days… and and i use only hard media … matrix, siporax and ceramic media .. also Carbon … after that i have also a Pax Bellum MacroAlgae reactor .
Those are the parameters from my Nano.

salt: 1025
Ph: 8.00-8.02
Po4: 0.008
KH: 8.4
Ca: 440
Mg 1330

Carefull! With this reactor .. it will wipe out your nutrients if you dont carefull watch really closely!
My nutrients are stable because i have 6 fish on my tank … small but i can feed well and also dosing a bit for the corals … im way more carefull because of the Pax Bellum who are like a Dragon and drag everything Many times more faster than anyother refugium or reactor .

follow my “Sump” picture .

im sharing my experience and knowledge about run a Tank in This model …
So if you have any question feel free to ask about .

I get this post is old but I'm running a similar setup, except I have the Oase biomaster. Did you have any chaeto end up in your tank? I'm trying to find a way to prevent chaeto from going into the tank and I've tried mesh, but it got really dirty and just not something I'd like to remove and glue on every time.
