I'll be buying one or the other this weekend, I just can't decide which on to get the fijicube 142 complete package or the Eshopps mariner 130.

Fijicube has a better sump and a known track record but a shorter stand at 32 a d thinner glass.

Mariner is a beast, thicker glass (3/4 vs 5/8), bottom bracing. The stand height is where i want it at 36". It also has seam guards.

The mariner sump is meh and the tank quality is relatively unknown as it's a new entry into the market so that's always a risk.

Both use imperial plumbing and are about the same size and price.

Any opinions???

What is it about these two systems that checks your boxes? I'm not saying they are good or bad, but there's a lot of options, and everyone is having Black Friday deals this weekend.

I want a tank stand sump combo, I prefer a 60" length as I fits the space I have perfect.

Both company's have well built stands and tanks that are 60x24x23, I do not want a shallow lagoon depth tank

The mariner has the stand height I want though.

The fijicube has the repuation for quality I like

Right now I really like the mariner as it offers so many extras but the newness of it makes me nervous

I think they are both good tanks, I would do some research and find out what company has better customer service, support, and warranty incase something happens.

I don't mean to be a downer, but I was recently researching (A LOT) for two new tanks, and I did not see good things about the customer service from FijiCube, though I have zero first had experience.

How has your hunt been going? Im looking for a 48" rimless, and really like the Fiji 76 shallow.

If the mariner had and external overflow I’d order one for myself! That looks really well built. As long as they’re not using Red Sea silicone I would go that route lol.

If the Mariner is local stock, and you can avoid freight shipping, that might be something to consider, but, again, I have ZERO first hand knowledge of these tanks.

However, the cost of freight shipping tanks absolutely drove the decision of both of my newest two tanks.

I did a lot (months (really years)) worth of research, though please don't take your advice solely from me :winking-face:

If I had an unlimited budget, I'd say, hands down, I'd go Glass Cages. I'm not even going to type (at) Joe Glass Cages, I'm pretty sure he's going to find this thread ;-)

I do have other tanks, and have had other tanks in the past, but here's my new focus:

I ended up with an Innovative Marine Nuvo Fusion 25 gallon lagoon to be used as a coral/motile invert QT tank. I plan to use this tank as a QT for all my animals that are not fish (I have a separate medicated fish QT tank), but this tank will be in a living area of our very modest home, and my wife didn't want it to be "utilitarian", with a standard tank and acrylic frag racks and such.

The above tank will support (hopefully) an SC Aquariums 150 gallon display, on order, and due to be delivered on December 2nd (Sorry, Joe, you know my next one will be from you guys!).......

Ladies and gentleman of Reef2Reef..... Please stay tuned, and buckle your seatbelts for the two slowest build threads ever lol!

Please post further if you have more questions!

Best of luck!

My only issues with recommending the mariner is it being a new product line and the stand. I have trouble trusting those types of stands and gen 1 of nearly any product has some issues. If you can wait, I’d give it a year or so before pulling the trigger on the mariner line. If you have to get the tank now, I’d go with waterbox or
Cade and accept the higher cost of the cade. They are extremely well built and thought out.

Purchased the FijiCube 142 ext. complete earlier this year. Very pleased with tank and plumbing kit. Love the dual return lines and large overflow. Stand is adequate but was not pleased with leveling feet and it seemed lacking in design function. Wound up replacing stand with Alufab aluminum stand.

check this out, you will love the Mariner. Plus the Mariner is the only tank in the Market Made In Vietnam vs the rest are Made in China. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/reffer-525-g2-vs-eshopps-mariner-130.1077771/

Not sure what about that thread is supposed to make me love it. The stand is still not something I trust due to issues with similar stands in the past. I prefer the use of leveling feet and metal. The tank is still gen 1 and just making it out to hobbyists. The larger 100 and 130 have the bottom tank braces which are nice, but I’m still never jumping on or recommending gen 1 to anyone. What am I missing from that thread that will make me love the tank?

Cade were previously built in Australia and then they moved to their own facility in China. The China facility is not a factory used by many companies, like some of the other brands we see.

If that is the size you are looking for, like @Fish Fan mentioned, sc aquariums are pretty nice as well as being another option that might fit in your budget.
I would have gone with them but decided that i wanted to spend a little more for a custom tank with glass cages. I also enjoy the diy side of stand and sump building so that played a role in my decision making as well.

Not sure how that explains what I am missing from the provided thread, but ok
