Bret Hartman shared these photos and said, "Here is mine [captive bred Goldflake Angelfish] day of arrival from biota. Ate tdo pellets 2hr after arrival!" and "Here is a Multibar I got from you after this guy came in so well. Ate pellets same day of arrival, too"

We have a small number of these precious fish still available today.

I want one of these multibar so bad but paranoid it will be difficult to feed. I know they are captive bred but a few have reported the captive bred ones only taking live foods sometimes.

Well the good news is that these will be eating prepared food as they have been raised as such. My recommendation should you buy one to have similar food on had that Biota uses. This way it is known for both parties (hobbyist and fish). I would also have some additional quality food such as LRS and a few assorted packs of frozen to rotate through until you see what it strikes.

Best solution for everyone to be honest or at least what I do. I start with what they are known to eat, then keep an assorted, and try them all and take notes.

Hope you are having a great day!

Ya I am glad to see the one posted here is eating pellets. I am following another thread where it was picking at stuff but maybe not eating super well for its size so they are feeding live foods. They lost their captive regal as it didn't eat.

So it isn't all cut and dry. If I could see one eat in person, that would have me buying it! Unfortunately I don't think my LFS got any of these captive multibars in.

This is the thread I am keeping an eye on:

It is my top dream fish but I also want to tread carefully about spending $500.

It is so freaking awesome to see so many captive bred angels available.

Fwiw I bought a second Multibar for another system. Just like the 1st one same day it was eating tdo and small new life spectrum pellets. I feed them several times a day and they eat each feeding.

No, the total loss was several thousand dollars so I will move in another direction, probably a large dartfish colony. However can’t knock the quality of the angels from biotia, they were the last to fall. Velvet just moved too fast before I knew what it was.
