Hello,

So I have been watching @Lou Ekus movies/interviews about carbon dosing and what I could find on youtube.

I have one question regarding this that I could not find any definitive answer.
What is the effect of UV on the good bacteria which we are feeding?
Does UV reduce the carbon dosing efficiency?

Thank you in advance.

Most nitrifying and other types of beneficial bacteria in aquariums are primarily surface dwelling although some small portion will always be waterborne due to agitation, etc. Upon adding fresh bacteria, you should turn off UV for a while to let the new bacteria settle. UV doesn't have any effect on carbon dosing itself.
