Carnation coral care

Ordered one and am looking for advice. I believe some are actually photosynthetic? I'm not sure if the one I ordered is, still waiting for a reply from the merchant. I feed corals mostly gonipower but am open to suggestions. Ty

Carnations are Dendronephthya species. They require high flow. They need to be spot fed plankton 3 times a day. They are NOT photosynthetic. Hi flow and low light keep the algae from growing on it which in turn kills the coral. Also, strontium and iodine must be maintained. Where did you order yours from?

Oh Ya, I like Corals Anonymous. Let me find some pics for you. Usually on the side or behind rockwork where the light doesn't reach with an additional powerhead is ideal. Plus feeding and addition of Iodine, strontium. Takes alot of care and patience for them to thrive in the home aquarium.

Thanks, good to know I can use phytofeast etc. I prolly would choose not to get it if I were to do it again but hopefully as long as I feed it and place it in a good spot I can have success. It should be here in a couple hours..
