Hi! I am new here and I’m in serious need of help! I am new to owning anemones and I have a green carpet anemone that was fine the first several days of it being in my tank and now it’s standing up. Like fully standing with its base attached to the side/bottom of a rock. It didn’t look like that in store or the first several days so I’m confused as to what it’s doing. Please help! Thank you!

I just tried posting a picture it says awaiting approval. The picture makes it look really white but it’s the same color it was when I got it.

It should be okay, but I'd just make sure that its mouth is not gaping as that is a sign of stress.

How old is your tank? You should wait a bit to get an anemone. What kind of lighting? Like Sailfin said, they like light, and if you don't have enough it may be reaching for it.

Thanks everyone for your help I switched out the light on the tank and he laid back down. He has only stood up once since I changed the light but he went back down again

Mine stands up like that quite regularly. They generally bury their foot in 4-6" of sand and then extend up. usually mine has its oral disk flush with the sand bed in the morning and evening and extends more during the midday. It might look odd because carpets are sand dwelling nems and you don't seem to have much sand?

You may wake up tomorrow and it will have moved... it will move around until it finds a place it wants to be... For a while and then move again.. Kinda what they do...
