Your proxy bid is no longer the winning bid.

Before, your proxy bid would be the winning bid if it was the highest. This is no longer the case.

Effective immediately, if your proxy bid is the highest at the end of an auction, you will win the auction at the current minimum bid (per minimum bid increment). This should be in line with bidding rules on other popular bidding sites.

For example:

Nemo places a proxy bid at $100.
Then Dory places a normal bid at $80.

Based on the $1 minimum increment, the minimum bid on this item is now $81. If no one else bids again, Nemo will win the auction at $81. Note that proxy bids are not shown to the public.

We hope this addresses any concern many of you have with proxy bidding. We really appreciate your patience and the feedback you have provided us as we continue to make the auction experience fair and pleasant for everyone.

Sincerely,
Kenny
