200?! I’d take that, everywhere I’ve seen and read them for sale they’ve been 300+ in the US.

I lost both of my Hawaiian ones to velvet about 6 months ago :loudly-crying-face:. I would love to have one or two more but it would be a few years before the little ones from biota would be large enough to add with my current livestock.
Hopefully by then Hawaii’s ban will be lifted.

Petco has sales on their fish. 20 percent I think. I did not know biota sent them fish. I know ORA does.

You also get the petco dollars which you can use on the fish or on salt or frozen food or whatever.

If you have a store with decent looking fish, you can actually get a fair price.

Had a conversation today about that with an old collector, who doesn’t collect anymore but is in the loop. Apparently they are issuing some special limited licenses. One of the problems as he sees it is, limits are based off of the collection reports back in the day, but no one filled them out accurately. Why is this a problem? Because he says, if a diver caught 30 tangs in a day and only put down say 10. And the sustainability study says it can be done with the, then amount of collection, based on the reports of 10 tangs they will only grant a limit based on 10 tangs. So that even now actual wild caught Hawaiian fish may start to trickle in, the price will go up. If that makes sense.

Dang, down south I’ve only ever seen them for sale between 3 and 5 hundred. Are you sure it was a true yellow and not a Yellow Scopas?
