Todd, I've got to ask.... What kimd of lens and settings are you using? My pics always come out out of focus when I don't use a tripod. Your pics are always great!

Todd, I've got to ask.... What kimd of lens and settings are you using? My pics always come out out of focus when I don't use a tripod. Your pics are always great!

This is Brett here... I use a Canon 7d, a 100mm macro, and a 24-70L for my colony shots. Mostly tripod work with a remote shutter. The fungia i just did quick hand held.

Cool thanks. On the fungia what was your f stop at? That 24-70L is a nice lens. Is that what you used or the macro?

f4.5 - Is a good aperture for most shots that are top down. Unless its something with alot of variance in depth of field, like an acro. I used the 24-70 on the fungia. I actually get a lot better handheld photos with this lens.

Thanks. Time to buy a new lens. Haha

I actually bought it to take pics of my kids! Turns out its perfect for corals too... I was using a 50mm prime before, but the focal length was a bit long
