Very few folks look at it that way and I've often wondered why. Go for the one with the lowest guesses. I would rather have much better odds at something I kind of want than bad odds at something i really want.

I understand they typically don't get as big up there though because of the colder weather. They only grow when it's warmer so they have a shorter growth window up there.

yea, not as big. my best is 6ish. I prefer catching smallies over largemouth when bass fishing.

Yeah a 5-6 lb smallmouth is the top of the range here. But we do have muskellunge, sturgeon and pike that get huuuge.

Smallmouth are great, they can definitely put up a fight above their weight class.

Yeah that's true for largemouth too. I image smallmouth are pretty similar. Very fun to catch! I just throw bass back anyway. I just fish for fun unless it's speckled trout. If I want fish to eat I just go to the store haha
