SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon trifascialis

COMMON NAME: Chevron Butterflyfish

SIZE: 7†(18 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 100 US Gal (379 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: Feeds on stony coral polyps, crustacean flesh, marine frozen preparations for butterflyfish, live brine and mysid shrimp.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: No. An obligate corallivore; consumes stony coral polyps and coral mucus.

CAPTIVE CARE: Should be provided with plenty of acropora, milipora, and other small polyped stony corals that develop mucus. Only one should be kept per tank, as this is an aggressive species and will defend its feeding territory from all competitors including its own kind. This species is not recommended for captivity.
