We all know giving is better than receiving, but would we be lying if we said we're hoping for some new stuff to add to our setup? I would be!

Gift cards are on my list. While I love talking reef tanks I know most around me, their eyes glaze over in boredom after about 5 seconds. If left to their devices I'd have a pulsing xenia farm with a shark in it. I'll take a battlecorals gift card any day of the week though!

I don’t get anything for Christmas so I answered other. My wife and I buy for our kids and nieces and nephews, but not for each other or any other adults.

Well… I’ll take what I can get lol. So far I hit up Black Friday pretty hard for myself.

My mom took me to the LFS for my birthday and I grabbed a couple of nice pieces. Thanks mom!

After buying for everyone else for Christmas... I decided it was time to buy for me. I had a spare 36g bow that I've decided to set up as a frag/quarantine tank for corals, crabs, snails, etc. I ordered the lights & controller, wavemaker, filter, etc... Filled the tank last night and built the frag rack.

The extra credit bonus is that it's the same light, controller, and wavemaker that I have on my main display tank! Can you say backup equipment?

I totally get this statement! LOL
I think chasing numbers are more related to... it's something to do and fiddle with, rather than being overly concerned with a certain number. At least for me it is.

I'm hoping for some more Hydros stuff but I'm thinking nothing much is happening this year except putting money back in the bank - too much money spent on emergencies this year.

My mom used to have a reef tank when I was younger (she's the one that introduced me to tanks in general) but the rest of my family could really care less. My mom's memory these days though, she can barely remember I have a fish tank much less what's in it. My brother and his family had a Betta for a while because it was "easy", but that was the start and end of their interest in fish.

Something I seen. I always loose suction when cleaning my sump seen this and thought it would work good the 2 times a year I clean the sump and cheap enough too.
