Hey guys not sure what to call this on my chromis. Is it an external injury that he could have gotten while diving into the rocks or is it something else???

Hopefully this is a better picture he seems really lethargic. He has scales missing on either side of him with a red mark

Sorry, but it does look like uronema. Once it is in the tank it is almost impossible to rid the tank without sterilizing the tank, due to the fact that uronema is a free living parasite that does not require fish to feed upon. This is a very difficult parasite to stop.
You could try treating the fish and the tank with an acriflavine product like Ruby Reef Rally. Mfg claims it to be reef safe.
Otherwise the fish would need to be treated in a QT with Metro, or CP, or copper.

Ok I will buy ruby reef rally. And the disease is normally not found in other fish besides chromis and clowns or did I read that wrong?

Sometimes it is seen on anthias, butterflyfish & angels (photos below); but by far chromis seem to be most susceptible.

Once the red spot shows up it’s very tough to save the fish. Need to place in meds as soon as the discoloration begins.
