I’m preparing my new pensinsula 500 and have a little problem with the sump. As everybody knows, it’s impossible fit the clarisea without customize the sump.
I’m not sure do it. What’s doy you think about?
Thanks

Thank you. I know the mods. The question is if everybody think is better the clarisea than the socket. The tank is new, and is the best moment to customize... I’ll try a different mod, cutting the socket holder in the middle, with enough space for the clarisea and conserve the media socket holder...

What tools did you use to cut and remove?

I used a flat razor and tool to push it into the silicone. Lots of details and photos in my build thread:

I am just setting up a V3 sump and Clarisea 3000 myself. I am strongly considering just placing the Clarisea in the main sump compartment and leaving the sock/media cup holder in place (mainly because it sounds like a lot of work to remove them). Can anyone tell me a downside to this. I would plumb my ATS and/or my carbon reactor return to the origonal V3 sump return area so that it would not be a "dead spot" flow wise

The stock Red Sea drain fits directly into the clarisea, both one inch size, just cut the length of the stock drain

I just cut the sump out, and placed her on a custom stand

It´s very easy to remove the sock holder. You have same work if you want to mantein the media cup holder. In my tank, I finally perform a brico with acrylic.

Sorry but I live in Spain... It´s easy for you. Yo can buy the acrylic in a local store (they can cut the pieces). If you want, I can send you the exact measures.
