My tank is 3 months old and in the ugly stage. I am battling mainly cyano although some green algae is growing on the rocks. This skimmer would help me clean up the issues causing the cyano. I believe that with the few corals I have at the moment trace element depletion would not be a huge factor.

Why I want to win. Well it would be a huge help for us! We are working on setting up a 300gallon reef for our middle son’s therapy room. 99% of our budget is going there, but I setup a 15 gallon cube for the kids to enjoy while we take the time to do the big tank correctly and work with my sons drs on making it low vision accessible. For the 15 gallon cube I currently just use an old hob filter from a fw tank. Any equipment to help with the cube gives time and budget to the big setup!

Bonus #1: I want to win this because I actually do not have a skimmer on my tank! I keep seeing all the posts about why a skimmer is necessary, and I seem to be holding out on one and doing fine, but if I were to win one it'd be on the tank! (And it'd be interesting to compare before and after with the skimmer!)
