I just got my Clearview Lids Pisces Exo for my 20 gallon Red Sea Max Nano - somehow one of my flagtail pink bar gobies (who was part of a bonded pair) jumped last night. I paid a lot for this lid so a little miffed right now to say the least.

They leave these rounded corners which is my first suspicion of where he might’ve jumped out - but also thinking he tried for the feed insert area which would have a little give if the fish jumped into it right.

Couple questions:

1. Any thoughts on how you suspect he made it out?

2. Any ideas on what I can do to fix? Maybe make some acrylic pieces to glue onto those open corners and a locking mechanism for the feeding insert? I have resorted to tape right now but doesn’t feel like that’s ideal.

3. What are the odds if I throw in a random flagtail pink bar goby they will pair off? Really bummed about losing the bonded pair :(

Also here is a closer picture of the gaps by the feeding insert. If you hit the feeding insert it has give on the front and back to allow it to rotate - so he either made it out of one of the gaps in the corner or near the insert, or hit the feeding insert just right to allow to to give.

Definitely not a knock on Clearview Lids - its an amazing lid otherwise and this may be one of the few fish that can get out, but regardless I want to figure out a solve to keep this from happening again. The fact it was a bonded pair makes it so much worse haha
