I just went thru a dino outbreak, did the 3 days blackout, dosed Hydrogen peroxide for 2 weeks and finally I think its gone. Quit dosing 2 weeks ago and tank has a greenish color. I am not dosing anything until I get water parameters right.

Sand bed getting a greenish tinted also.

Any idea what may be going on?

Parameters
180 gal tank
77.8 temp
500 calcium
8.9 alkalinity
1570 mag
3 ppm phosphate
0.25 nitrates
34.6 sg

I would run some carbon on your system for a fee days that should clear it up ...also I'd add more bacteria every couple of weeks

Has greenish tinted I am thinking some type algae bloom but don't want to dose anymore. Lost about 10 corals already and some that are on shaky ground. Water I mean. lol

Have you been trapping and removing dino daily with net or filter socks. You will have to eradicate it to fully rid of it.

Yes , it was clear for 4/5 days then this broke out. I haven't seen any sign of the dino. I cleaned rock with turkey baster about 6 times in last month. Changing filter floss daily and sock every other day. Carbon did nothing, last night I used chemiclean, will know tomorrow night 48 hours. So far I see no results turned lights off all day today, I guess we'll see what happens.

I suspect algae bloom. Water changes and use of a UV sterilizer would help. GAC would help as well.

If possible, increase O2 in the water collum.
