Help! I have this clown fish in QT. I noticed the first week he had this dull black spot on his back fin. The spot seems to be fading recently. Is this black ich or something else???

I don’t think so but you could do a fresh water dip and then treat with prazipro. I treat all my fish with prazipro regardless of showing signs of some kind need.

I just got him at my LFS. I don’t recall anything in their holding tank other than rock. It might be worth a re- visit to see if there were any coral. I have prazi and copper If needed. I‘m not a fan of fresh water dip. It’s painful to watch.

If its not Hyper-Melanization then I would guess it was a fluke.. And as much as I hate to say it but the best way to check for flukes would be a fresh water dip. If you dont want to deal with that then do your Prazipro and then do a second dose 7 days later.

You dont have any corals or an anemone in the tank he is in?
