I have a clown thats jaw seems to be stuck open. He is breathing heavily and has been this way for the past few weeks. I moved him over to my HT and treated with Kanaplex and Metro just in case there was some bacterial issue. In the beginning was eating fine but I havent actually seen him eat in over a week. Started after I moved my tank so thought it was stress at first. But still has not gone away. Swims around seems to bump into things so not sure if trying to close his mouth or not. Any ideas on what else I can do? IMG_2196.jpg IMG_2197.jpg IMG_2198.jpg IMG_2199.jpg IMG_2200.jpg

I’m suspecting low oxygen or elevated ammonia and nitrate
What are your readings and what test kits are you using ?
Also, are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet ?
What is tank temperature and salinity?

madding an air stone will be helpful for the fish

I havent tested for ammonia to be honest in the display tank. Other fish and shrimp are doing fine. Since moving to HT there has been no change in the other clown. I do have the alert badge setup on the HT and ammonia showing safe.

I only use RODI water

Temp is 77-78 and Salinity is 1.025

Simply to say, ammonia badge is renedered useless as it works for freshwater and produces false readings like the API test kit
