2 days ago the white part of the dorsal fin was eaten up to the bones, it was scary , I think he is showing some improvement , especially in the eating and the energy

Is he still eating and overall active? My guess is a bacterial infection set in from the wound, you can go 2 different routes.

first option being pull him out and place in QT. Treat with trifecta of Kanaplex + metro + furan2 for 2 weeks.

second option if he is eating would be feeding him vitamin enriched food soaked in selcon and zoecon and add kanaplex + focus to bind medications to the food. This can help work inside out but typically helps with internal problems. Yours is external which is best administered directly through the water column.

:( I have no idea what could have possibly brought in the presence of bacteria and disease, but I know they don’t just come from nowhere.

I understand how you feel. As a fellow Canadian, I am appalled by the fact that drugs in Canada are legal while we can’t get meds for fish. The time and effort spent on banning fish meds would be better used helping out the average family, First Nations communities etc. Politicians are idiots and the world would really be better without them, democracy or not.

I feel like pounding my fists when I see someone else’s fish die from reasons other than old age or complications brought by advanced age. It’s like losing one of my own and I hope all of my fish can live out their whole lives under my care.

Feed these tards in suits to the sharks, if you ask me. The sharks won’t listen to their eloquent words or appeals to twisted logic.

Thank goodness I didn’t start my reef in Canada (nothing on you). I wish you the best moving forward and may your tank and fish in the future all be as healthy as possible.
