Hi, do you have a picture of the clownfish? When was the last time he ate?
Last time was 2 days ago. I didn't really think anything of it because there were no marks or any signs of disease but today I noticed heavy breathing

A picture in white light would help determine if he has lost color if you can take one, has he developed ay marks that you have seen now? Or is heavy breathing and not eating his only problems?

I tried white light and it's no different from the other healthy not fast breathing eating well clown. And I see no markings either. I think those 2 are the only issues

I just lost a clownfish that was healthy for a year beforehand. It was showing fluke symptoms, but i could not find flukes and it did not respond to Prazipro or CP, so it wasn't ich or velvet either. I think it might have been a nitrate spike that damaged its gills. The other fish from the tank are perfectly fine a month later. Clownfish are hit or miss when it comes to high nitrates, some don't even notice and others get irreversible gill damage. It wouldn't hurt to put it in a clean QT and treat it with Prazipro either way. Gill flukes are not always visible.

Maybe it was because of a nitrate spike? I had my nitrate go up to 100 like 2 months and a half before because I dosed nitrate because my results were faulty. Maybe that's the reason?

Could be. Like I said. Mine was showing symptoms like this and I hadn't added anything to the tank in like 6 moths, so its the only thing i could think of. My nitrates only got to maybe 80ppm.

What do you mean by "dosed nitrate"? The only thing to do for high nitrates is a large water change

How recently? Is this a coral tank? I've never heard of dosing nitrates in a tank with fish. 5ppm is good. High nitrates are bad, low nitrates are not. I would do a large water change if you dosed nitrates. Don't ever dose nitrates to a tank with fish. This sort of thing is only for reef tanks that don't have fish and only if there are no readable nitrates. Even then few people do it.
