For those of you that don't know, the club made a big investment an purchased a brand new full spectrum Apogee PAR meter. This club owned PAR meter will be available for paid club members to borrow, with the following guidelines:

    • Must be a Paid CTARS member for 6 months prior to using the club PAR meter.
    • The borrower is allowed to keep the PAR meter for a period no longer than 1 week
    • The borrower is financially responsible for the PAR meter while in their possession and must report any damage immediately.
    • The Borrower is responsible for paying for shipping (with tracking & insurance valued at $500) to the next approved borrower on the list or meeting them in person to transfer.

Let use this thread to create a list of who wants to borrow the meter.

    So far I have:

Now that I've got a new tank set up with a new light, I'm thinking that being added to the list could be useful. I need to figure out what I've got going on. Switching from cheap Chinese PAR type LEDs that have two fixed channels (undefined blue and cool white) to a fixture that has six adjustable channels has the potential to burn everything I just picked up at the FFM.

Does the club still have a Kill-A-Watt meter? I ordered one a while back and ended up with two.

So I have a bit of bad news. It has been brought to our attention that the newest model of Apogee PAR meters are not accurately reading par. This is very recent news and apogee has not officially said what they are doing to correct the issue.

Due to the meter not being accurate the way it is now, we will have to postpone handing it out until there is a fix in place. Not sure if Apogee will replace, repair, or come up with a calibration to fix.

    Sorry folks...stay tuned.

Does anyone know if this affects the Neptune PAR probe? I believe it is manufactured by Apogee?

Apogee emailed us saying they are still working on a fix for this problem. It is reading inaccurately with LEDs by a small percentage.

If there have not been any changes by the April meeting, we will begin letting people utilize the meter.

If the solution requires the meter to be sent back to Apogee, and we receive the news after it has been lent out, we will have the person using it finish in a timely manner and send back to a board member to be repaired.

If any updates happen between now and the April meeting, we will let you all know.

I've been debating on signing up because I'm most likely going to be attending fragtoberfest to stock my upcoming frag tank build but man... It might be worth registering just so I can finally dial in my lighting properly
