SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon collare

COMMON NAME: Collare Butterflyfish, Pakistan Butterflyfish

SIZE: 6.3†(16 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 55 US Gal (208 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: Feeds on marine fish, crustacean flesh, and frozen preparations. Should be fed a mimum of 3 times per day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: No. This species nips sessile invertebrates on live rock and will damage some soft corals and most stony corals.

CAPTIVE CARE: Can fare well in captivity, but is sensitive to acclimation and some individuals refuse to accept alternative foods to coral polyps. Smaller specimens prove harder to feed, so specimens over 3" (8 cm) in length should be selected. The Collare Butterflyfish will often not feed for several days in a new tank. More than one of this species can only be kept in larger systems. Adults need plenty of swimming room.
