I am looking at a large rubbermaid 150 gal stock tank as a sump, I know it's made of HDPE but I also know they use a non FDA approved colorant to provide the color. I've seen a few others use these and over time the color fades. Anyone know anything about potential toxicity/issues with this colorant leaching into the tank?

Can't say for sure but I think it's pretty unlikely - people have been using those tub for years and years, for sumps and holding tanks and rock cycling, and I've never heard of anybody even suggesting that there's a toxicity problem.
