Nice! Best version of Echoes came from that concert :)
I am literally listening to the end of it right now! The 61 minute theatrical release, LOL!

I did recently buy an all black toothbrush that has black bristles because it looks metal.
Dunno if the toothbrush counts as metal? My 16yo “hip hop/pop/Carmel macchiato” daughter bought one of those because it was cool!

IMO; it’s metal tho! (Ive caught her jamming along in the truck with me before, although she won’t admit it!)

Cannot compile a list right now but am waiting to see more Sabbath and, please, someone, anyone mention Lemmy (Motorhead)!
I was thinking Motor Head- Hawkwind Lemmy was their bassist and vocals, he did this song and it's what he named his band after.

I love this thread. I grew up more of a punk fan but my parents were both metal heads. So metal was always in my CD collection.
Music today falls flat compared to everything I grew up listening to. Everyone says I’m getting old. I agree. I’ll die happy knowing my music was better than whatever they’re doing now.

I’ve always leaned to the punk side of metal. There’s tons of newer stuff that is great. There’s just so much music these days that a lot of good stuff goes undiscovered by the masses. These come to mind (some of these could be considered punk but lean metal)

Deafheaven
AFI (circa 2000 stuff)
Modern life is War
A Wilhelm Scream
Cancer Bats
Dillinger Escape Plan
Blood Brothers
Ignite
Older stuff from Avenged Sevenfold
Strike Anywhere
Single Mothers
Pears
American Nightmare
Turnstile
Everything Time I Die
The Bronx

Mastodon - Hearts Alive
Mastodon - Jaguar God
Gojira - Art of Dying
Tool - Wings for Marie (parts 1 and 2)
Tool - Vicarious
Coheed and Cambria - In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
Ghost - Cirice
Russian Circles - Mota
Pelican - Ephemeral
Powerwolf - God's of War Arise (Amon Amarth cover)

I tried to include some lesser known stuff. Pelican and Russian Circles are post-metal instrumental bands and are phenomenal in concert!

Disturbed- Down with the sickness
Avenged Sevenfold- Bat Country

Tool- the pot

I would have had Kyuss on my list if I considered them metal, while they were a bit before my time I did enjoy the kyuss lives project and have seen qotsa more then 50 times live.
