So these two have grown 3-5x original size in about a year. Now they’re touching and likely some warfare going on.

Is there anything to be done or survival of the fittest?

Also, need an ID. What on earth is the mushroom, at least I think it’s a mushroom but don’t remember where I got it from. Sorry for the blue lights but it was a quick pic.

Looks like a tequila sunrise mushroom but hard to tell there not usually that bubly. White light would help.

thanks. I’ll take white light pics tomorrow. They weren’t that bubble (if at all) to begin with. In fact there was only one and it split. Wasn’t anything ‘special’ when I bought it. Just can’t remember the name and can’t find an old order.

I was afraid it was survival of the fittest but the pink (left) is growing faster. Was hoping I could slow it down a little.

It is difficult to slow down one vs. the other when they are receiving the same light, nutrients, etc. But as said by another poster, often 'they will work it out'.

What I have done in those cases where it was obvious that I needed to 'even the playing field' was to lay a flat strip of reef safe epoxy over the dominant coral's leading growth edge (tip: adding a bit of super glue on the underside of the epoxy helps to make it stick better). It's a bit of a balancing act to keep the opponents in check, but it 's certainly doable.

Any idea what the bubble shroom is in the middle?
