I recently bought a selection of corals from a local reefer and found he had thrown these in as well.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me what they are? They are hard stalks with green polyps on the ends. Thanks!

The stalk itself is a purple color and I agree that the tops look a lot like GSP. I sure hope its not vermetid snails, I'm tempted to get rid of them right now.

Anyone able to give a second opinion on the vermetid snail opinion?

I don't think so. It's definitely some sort of stoloniferan and likely a clavularid like GSP or similar species. Personally I think it's a species of Tubipora (there are several unnamed and undescribed species that everyone in our hobby calls T. musica). Young colonies don't form the characterisitc red pseudo-skeleton until they are pretty densely packed. Also it looks like the base of the polyp is growing over this stalk which would further prove my theory. Just my $0.02

Yes! I watched a video on pipe organ corals by tidal gardens and am certain that these are tubipora. Thanks very much!
