Is this a zoa growing out of my Florida ricordia mushroom? I’ve never had this happen before. Is it ok to leave it, the way it is?

Yup that’s a zoa growing out of a Florida mushroom lol. Can’t see those mushrooms growing fast enough to cover the zoa. I would leave it. The zoa can get light.

Guess you got a free zoa lol.

Wow! I’m glad. Usually, when something is growing out of something, or on it... it’s not a good thing. Lol
Thankful, it’s not anything bad. Nice surprise

Yup free zoa! And what @BaysEndReef is saying is correct. It technically not growing out of the physical mushroom lol. It’s growing out from underneath the mushroom.

Definitely a win!

I’ll also add if your worried about the mushroom, I wouldn’t be.
Ok, thanks. I wasn’t sure. The mushroom has been in that spot for months/it’s never moved... well... other than to get settled. It’s doubled in size. And, it’s so easy. I really like it. It’s kind of weird, but I like it

Yup have one myself, one of my favorites. Odd the zoa barely showed itself now after months. Must have been a tiny bit of zoa skin on the frag it was on.

It is unusual. But, it fits perfectly. I have several (random) corals that don’t follow any of the (typical) rules. They literally, do their own thing. Thanks, again!
