Yes. Lollipops frag tanks are amazing!

I am currently starting a coral QT to house/inspect some coral frags before putting in my DT. if all goes well I may just keep it up for a frag tank. Not sure though as it’s in the basement and separate from my display. I am new to reefing and learning a lot so the journey and the learning is fun.

I've had FOWLR tanks in the past and with this build I'm entering the coral corral, so to speak, looking forward to adding my first and if all goes well, plan to add a small frag tank in the future!

I have what I call a grow out tank, because they are pieces that come in and need to be qt'd and grown up before added to my 210g. I will also have frags as I trim things. Although, I have not had to do that yet with the new system, but do have babies dropped a lot that I grow out in there.

I like the look of mature encrusted corals that fit their tanks. I figure that IF, and that is a huge if, I ever were to setup a frag rack...oh wait. Does my Tunze Rock Rack count? Anyways, IF I ever setup a frag TANK, I would do it only because I was honestly expecting to make a small profit from it. Even if it was only profit in my head and not my wallet.

I have a frag tank that I utilize to fund my hobby. Granted, there was an expense to set it up, as well as expenses to stock and maintain the system. I've sat on most of the livestock for a long time (more than a year for most of it) in order to just let it all grow out. I'm at a point now where I can consistently sell/trade frags on a regular basis while still maintaining a good amount of brood stock. I've just about broken even on my financial investment and should be in the black in another month or so. My ultimate goal is to be able to not only maintain my current coral addiction, but to also fund my "dream tank" at some point down the road. So far, so good.

Also, I just really enjoy tinkering with corals. I want to have one of everything, lol.

I have a 20G isolation tank that currently holds a bunch of frags and will also double as an observation tank for any fish I decide to add to my DT. Frags will either grow out or I hold 70-ish days before moving to the DT. Only issue I’ll have is if I have to medicate a sick fish or decide to treat new fish

Coral kindergarten: Do you have a frag tank?

There are many reasons to have a frag tank including an aspiration to be a commercial coral farmer, to grow out your clippings to share with others, or just to take another approach on the stewardship of your own corals. After all, it is an excuse to add another tank which is a good thing, right? Have you added a frag tank to your system? If so, why did you set up your frag tank? What have you found to be the biggest difference between a display tank and a frag tank? Please share your stories and tips in the discussion thread!

Just set up my first frag tank. Pretty excited! I might use it as a holding area to re-scape some of my main display as well.

I just purchased my frag tank on Saturday Petco 50% off sale. I'm starting small using a 20 gallon long. I ordered t5 lights and already have a 24 inch LED. I'm going to use the 10 gallon sump kit I ordered from Amazon on a aqueon tank. If anyone has pointers for this type of setup please reply

I never had a frag tank and I probably never will. I have a frag rack instead and I use it when I need it.
