If you are an avid mushroom collector or you just love nice corals then you should consider a Yuma Ricordia!

In my experience Yuma's come in many different colors and for the most part are vibrant and sometimes rainbow in color. There is just about any color combo you could want. They are very easy to care, will multiply, and can grow to a pretty decent sized if housed in optimal aquarium conditions. I actually have a yuma that is saucer sized and it is one of my favorite pieces in my tank. One way to tell a yuma apart from other mushrooms are the defined vesicles located on the disk of the coral.

Care Level: Easy
Lighting Requirements: Moderate
Water Flow: Low to Moderate
Aggressiveness: Peaceful
Range: Indo-Pacific
Family: Ricordeidae
Water Conditions: 74-80° F; sg 1.023-1.025; pH 8.1-8.4; dKH 8-12

I like these but have never been able to convince myself to spend that much coin on a shroom that doesn't make me hallucinate;)

Those first ones are amazing, I believe they are Ricordea florida though. I think Tomasz from Paradise Corals imported similar morphs back when.

I have a Orange Yuma in my 55g and these things are HARDY. I have probably the most minimal amount of lighting for my size of tank and it is THRIVING. It's had 2 babies already and is nice and big. Not home ATM so I can't take a picture of mine right now.

How about this one......my favorite pink yuma of all time.....

DSC_0387.jpg

From my experience, the pink yumas are really tough to keep long term......I have tried a few and have never had one live for more than a year even when I baby them......now the orange, red and green ones live forever no problem........why are the pink ones fragile, I don't know......it seems like a cruel joke.....

That is gorgeous!! Hopefully that will outlast the year mark. So the green/blue/purple rainbow ones are not that bad?

How do the pink ones usually go?

That pink one died on me, it was the longest that I kept alive at one year.....they usually just slowly wilt away and then one day they release from their rock and disappear. I even feed them pellets, I have purchased a couple pink yumas that turned out to be slightly bleached red ones.....I never had problems keeping them alive. All other morphs have been generally hearty.....
