Hello, I’ve been reefing for about 4 years. My nano tank (fluval 13.5) was about as perfect a coral landscape and tank can be. 3 years of collecting corlas, growing and maintaining. Was featured on reef2reef tank of the month and a magazine. Considering it was my very first tank I was thrilled. Long story short I went on vacation 2 weeks to Mexico. My mom “babysat” my tank though it was self sufficient but for feeding. She wanted to surprise me and clean my apartment so she sprayed Clorox, febreeZe and all types of products. To say less I get back and my corals where all dying and fish where all dead. It was beyond repair. I took months off and left the tank bare with just the live rock and sand. During this time I got a great deal on a barely used water box 60.2. Here is my build progress on this 6 month old setup and also last week cleaned out completely my fluval 13.5, disposed all live rock sand and hand scrubbed to start fresh. Here are some pics before of the fluval in its glory days and my 6 month old waterbox 60.2 which is now ready for me to start adding coral.
I hope you enjoy the photos and my new progress to get back to a tank I can be proud of ! It will be a journey and sad to say all the money I spent on coral over the last few years die away. But I’m excited about this new journey and getting both these tanks looking full and beautiful. Any ideas or advice or help is always greatly appreciated. Happy to be back with the reef2reef family !

Wow.. So sorry to hear about the tank crash. Looks like you had a real beauty going.

My best advice? Next time you go on vacation, take Mom with you!! LOL!!
