I've noticed some purple growth on both the sandbed and on some of the rock in my nano. I was wondering if it could be coraline, or if it is just cyano.

I'm 100% sure that's cyano. Even in well established tanks, it shows up in the sandbed like that. Coraline requires light and will be chalky/hard to remove. Coraline also usually starts out green and turns pink.

Yes its cyano . Siphon up and lower white lights a little. Increase water flow towards, not at sandbed and use ChemiClean if needed
