I’m sure you could, but a lot of the equipment, etc. are more personal preference than anything else. Get a good Tunze magnetic scraper (the one that includes the stainless steel blade) and that’s all you’ll need. Ditch the API test kits in favor of something like the Red Sea Marine Pro test kit.

Salifert are the tests I like and use. Elos are good too.
Nothing wrong with over sized equipment either. Under sized is another story.
