I ordered a pink face wrasse from DD and it will be delivered Tuesday. I'd like to use CP if it is safe to do so but have cupramine if I need to go that route.

Any help is appreciated

There have been some negative experiences with wrasses and CP from those who qt a lot of them. I went TTM with my fairy wrasse.

But if had to choose would do chelated copper over CP.

Gorgeous fish btw, nice grab :)

Thanks, I'll go the copper route to be on the safe side. I'll set up my old 14g biocube this afternoon to get it ready for Tuesday since my current QT is running CP with a different batch of fish.

Is this a wrasse that is known to have complications with CP?
I don't know anyone who has tried a thalassoma in CP. I know some Halo/fairy will tolerate CP.

I didn't think TTM was needed with Wrasse due to their thick slime coat, the chances of getting Ich (which TTM is mainly used for) are slim?

I know when I was QT'ing flasher wrasse, I just put them into the 20 long for 30 days (at least planned) and observed eating, and treating with PraziPro twice.

Clowns and wrasse might be the last to fall victims to ich but can still harbor the parasite often without symptoms. Then when added to the dt any fish susceptible become infected adding to the parasite load in the tank creating a situation where even hardier fish perish do to the shear number of parasites present.

Just finished ordering from Amazon:
Copper power 4oz
Dr. Tims -2oz
Ammonia badge
These items will arrive Tuesday
Got this so I can start up my biocube as a second QT so I don't start over with the fish I am QT'ing now.

Now I'll have the wife p'd off with 4 tanks running!!!

From eBay:
Hanna copper checker

I've got the seachem copper test kit but keep hearing how great this device is. I'll give it a shot.

@HotRocks

Sand in a tray or bare bottom? I'm thinking sand but LA doesn't say anything about sand in the description.

Got the biocube set up yesterday afternoon and will pull media from my other tanks to get the bio jumped on it Monday evening. Then Tuesday I'll add the bottle bacteria while floating the wrasse. My question was with sand.

I dont know if they sleep in sand or not but found a couple sites that say they bury themselves when frightened. Maybe @eatbreakfast or @evolved will have the information on if sand is needed or not :)

Thalassoma don’t generally bury, and typically do fine in copper.

Ok, got the pink face on Tuesday and temp acclimated. Since the salinity was matched put him into QT. It has been hiding behind a PVC pipe and submarine decoration since introduction. After getting him in the mail my wife wanted to order a couple fish. She ordered from LA so I've spent the last couple days slowly dropping the salinity to accommodate their arrival as they have been arriving at 1.019. Currently at 1.020 with them temp acclimating in the bags.
She ordered:
1-medium pink margin fairy wrasse
1-medium dispar anthias
