My sea urchin was not doing well and losing most of its hair suddenly. I seperated and moved it to refugium. It stopped moving today and when I noticed closely I saw something crawling all over it's body. I've seen this many times but all the while I was thinking it's urchins mouth. It looks like a designer crab perfectly camaflouged. Can you please ID this crab and also advise if I need to keep it or throw away

Zebrida adamsii --The Zebra Thorn Crab, Zebrida adamsii, also known as the Zebra Urchin Crab, boasts a unique body shape and characteristic black and white stripes across its body and legs. They are peaceful and only grow to about one inch.

My urchins have dropped their spines as a result of sudden poor water quality. Takes a while, but they regrow the spines and carry on, as long as you get the water parameters under control ASAP. The crab is just a very cool coincidence.

Unfortunately the urchin died last night and now I am just left with the crab. Thinking whether to keep in refuge or leave it in DT?

Thank you. Their claws are really sharp not sure if left back in main tank will cling on to something like fish or shrimp. Currently it's in refugium
