So heres my thought process. And hear me out. So I had a 80 pound sandbed. Which was relatively deep. The underside of the tank is wide open so the light from my refugium reflected up to the underside of the tank causing the sandbed to turn nasty colors. It is my belief that this was leaching up into the tank. Which if you think about it makes sense. Tank looked amazing for a couple months and then started deteriorating. Sandbed was clean, it was brand new. As the detritus and algae started growing and the sandbed got messed with things started to decline. Heres what the underside of the tank looked like.

The corals that started dying were on the more nasty side of the tank picture. I figure at this point it's worth a shot. What have I got to loose right? I'll be slowly painting the bottom of the tank black to stop the light from reflecting up into the display.
