These are Polynesian cultured clams, about 2.5-3.5 inches--the perfect size--no supplemental feeding is needed. Dr. Mac helped set up the farm there years ago and met with the President of French Polynesia and the legislature in helping to allow for the culture and export of Maxima Clams.

The cultured clams are easy to keep and do well under a variety of lighting. They do need something firm to attach to and most folks will put some rock rubble under them or one of the manmade clam cradles.

They're beautiful, each one is unique in color and pattern--often the digital image doesn't do justice to the subtlety of their nuances. They are hardy and easy to keep under a variety of lighting. Beautiful cultured Maxims clams!
