I have been cycling with red sea reef mature. It has not been a smooth cycle.
I have a 180 gal. Using dead live rock that was used in the take many years ago.
I cured the rock a couple of months ago. I have been in cycle now for 25 days.
Ammonia just went to 0. yesterday. Nitrite .4, Nitrate 20.
Today Ammonia 0., Nitrite .2, Nitrate 10.
I have had some brown algae for the last 4 days or so. A spec or two of a green algae.
I just added a bit of mysis shrimp as food into the tank to test.
Do you all think my tank has completed the cycle?
I think I will be ordering a cleanup crew tomorrow, unless we think my tank is not yet ready.
I have some nice small clowns that have been in QT now for about 14 days. I don't want to risk them in a take that is not ready.
I wanted to wait to put Tangs in the tank until I can get what I really want. So they can go in at the same time as not to cause too much stress to one and other.
What do you'll think. Thanks in advance for the info? This is definitely a great site for advice.
