Well I have not been on here much since I signed up! Always wanted to start a build thread, which is already built but can maybe help some people as some have helped me get to where I’m at now so I will go threw my best with pictures and descriptions! It’s been about one year since I started thinking of building a new tank and upgrading my 125g! Wanted to go with a full system, which Red Sea was in my price range, when I wanted an elos. Heard the XXL 750 was comming out so waited, for the pre order and the day it came I ordered it! Sat in my garage for months which I have already bought most of the equipment before the tank, which was just thinking on what color to do my plumbing in. Soooo Where do I start:

Red Sea XXL 750 (white)
3 radion 30 4g pros
2 L1 ecotech pumps
2 Ecotech Battery back ups
4 MP-40 QD powerheads
2016 apex/2 b23/3 fmm/ATK/AFS, ect...
Custom 44” yellow triggers sump
OcTo Elite int 200 skimmer
Skimz 157 algae reactor
MRC carbon reactor
MRC calcium reactor
All yellow customs pvc return/manifold
1/2hp chiller
Artfully acyclic lid
Custom hood/brackets
HK monitor

Sure there is more!!!!!

Also made a customs bracket for all the Red Sea colors, and mounted my coral box WiFi dosers! Haven’t hooked any of them up yet! Also still need to set up my hk monitor and cal reactor, the programing for the apex is killing me spent 20/30 hours on it and can’t figure out how to program it!

I have thought about getting one of these too. You have topnotch equipment and build planning here. Great job.

Q. It looks like there are two sections under the tank inside the stand, is that standard?

Did you use all your own plumbing or some that came with the system and adapt it to yours?

I like the floating canopy idea, going to look good.

How many returns are there and your second L1 is also a return or only for reactors/manifold? Or I guess it runs the chiller?

You really think a chiller is needed?

If I do get this system I want to add a large EXT skimmer and a refugium.

Thanks been a while comming! Yes the cabinet comes with a separation, you don’t have to install it but wouldn’t recommend due to support, the tank is pretty massive 3/4” glass. As for the plumbing the tank comes in mm and the fittings for the back in the over flow where they come out of the tank is Red Sea ( special ) fittings which would be hard to change so kept everything from the overflow out and just reduced it down to standard in the sump area! From there all custom! The floating canopy is nice which I kinda made my tracking system a little different but it will do just fine, it’s a simple 45 degree cut 4 boards its made out of PVC board, it will never rot or break down! Ok for the pumps have one L1 just straight to the tank, and the second is running the mainifoild, has 5 valves, that run all the appliances, carbon reactor, cal reactor, chiller, ect.. as for the sump it comes with a very nice glass sump which is plenty of room for a refuge, didn’t like the configuration and think it could filter way better another way so sold it and bought a custom sump made by triggers , I went with an algae reactor as well Bc I didn’t want the mess in my sump, and I had to open my skimmer compartment to fit this skimmer in, but if you want to do a EXT, none of that will be an issue just think you will waste a lot of space in the bottom and have a lot of external extras, I love how it’s all in closed and have nothing else but what u see, maybe just maybe if I had a garage or basement I would do external but still not a fan of going threw walls, didn’t even like running a couple RO lines threw my attic for auto water changes and my RO system :(((! Thank for looking let me know if you have anymore questions!

Do you have a picture of the canopy hung yet? I’m also going with a light canopy. Just haven’t hung it yet.

Yes, did temp plates in 1/4” plywood, spend a lot of time fabricating, ordered the acrylic, from eplastic, and for the black cover which I haven’t pleaded the paper off yet, I bought a router and routed out all the openings using the plywood templates for guides!

I really like it. I’ve got a 180 that I have put together but now have to move. All the equipment is in the garage so plenty of room. I am considering this tank mostly because I really really love the clean look of the stand and the fact it is sealed in thick plastic. What is the maximum sump length you can install inside the stand? I am looking at a 44” sump, would that for in one section?

YES, It comes with a 44” glass sump as I described also the custom one I have from triggers is 44” as well. It fits nicely with a little space on each side!

Nice! Well seems I’ve got some really good options to consider. I could turn the stock sump into just a very large refugium with Ext skimmer. Or replace the sump with something suited for one.

About your build, how will you be maintaining ALK, Cal, Mag. Was that a 2-Part container I saw?

Have a MRC dual chamber cal reactor, and a HK monitor, should keep it stable maxed out with all sps. No 2 part, the (2) containers are going to be all the Red Sea additive supplements total of 6/7 with the no-pox but just have not installed them, just put those in the pic for fit.
Yes you could make the sump however u want there is 2 dividers or u can just leave the whole sump open!
