So I spent the day yesterday transfering all corals and water over to the temporary 4ft setup and then cleaned the cube setup from top to bottom, removed the overflow comb and the cladding of the overflow and cleaned that up.

I then went out to buy the goodies needed to redo the overflow comb. While I was out I also stopped by one of my favourite pet stores and bought 20kgs of red sea pink reef base and two Azure damselfish.

I decided that while I'm at it I may as well now add sand as I do plan on getting a blue star leopard wrasse by the end of the year.

Got back and worked until around 9pm getting the overflow reinstalled so I could let it sit for the weekend to cure and its done!!

Here is a photo of what the old ABS overflow comb looked like after pulling off vs the new comb from acrylic that I made up yesterday

So the tank is back up and running as before except the overflow is now fixed and I have sand.

Tips on my birds nest are a bit white from some alk fluctuations while doing the transfers but all levels are good now and will aim to keep them stable again.

Hoping I can keep this sand bed clean from here onwards

So a local guy was shutting down his tank for an upgrade and was selling off some of his SPS colonies so I picked up two colonies for my setup. A friend and I cut each in half and split the price on the two. It was a pocci and birds nest. Also got myself a forest fire Digi. Tank is now looking very full!!

Realised now I also have a boat load of green corals so my aim from here onwards will be to get some other colours going. It's soo difficult to not get green though.

Also baby sitting my mates lumo green open brain as he has an angel in his tank nipping at his LPS

Very nice tank, I love the acans I am a sucker for acans! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. Also a sucker for them.

Been wanting to get more but want some of the oranges and purples. Prices here are unfortunately prohibitive so will have to wait for a good deal to come around before I get more:(

such a gorgeous tank! I also plan to purchase a 60g cube setup and I hope I can make mines like yours!

Curious as to what LED setup you are using?

Thank you!

I'm running two Hydra 26 non-HD lights over the setup.

Still considering adding dual 24W T5 to it as well later.

Beautiful Reef! If you don't mind me asking, what settings do you have your hydras set to?

And it looks as though my maze brain and frogspawn will have a new home in the near future.

Unfortunately they are just getting too big for the tank and the stingers on the maze are making it impossible to place anything near it. I'm gonna miss them, but it also means I'll be able to open up my sand bed a bit.

Also hoping to pick up two Bangaii Cardinals soon.

I have finally begun the addition of a frag tank to my system.

Welded up the steel frame for it yesterday. Will be getting quotes for glass and such this week and will send the stand in for powder coating next week hopefully.

Basically will feed the tank of the outlet of the UV sterilizer and it will drain back to the common sump of my main display.

Here is a picture of the stand so far:

Will update as it goes along.

Very excited to get this going as it will free up room in my display tank.:D

A bit of an update on the frag loop in progress:

Stand is done and ready to go for powder coating, I added an arm made from bent rebar to hang the hydra 26 I plan to use over the setup.

Tank is built and drilled, just needs an overflow weir

And I'm now making frag plugs like there's no tomorrow!

Saw the price of frag plugs and decided to go my own DIY way. Making them for a quarter the price at least and the LPS by me has ordered some from me.
Also got a few jobs from him and another local reefer for some custom stuff but will post pictures once that is built.

I sold off my froggy today and it opened up a lot of space so I rescaped the tank this evening. Will post some FTS this weekend once everything is happy again.

Here is a quick pic of my forest fire digi

Finally, I repurposed an old aquarium stand with some wood planks and varnish for my water making station outside. Took my an hour and is now setup and ready to go. Will be picking up 2 x 250L drums tomorrow to put on top of it. Will post pics tomorrow once in place. The leftover tank will be chopped up for my 5foot build as a sump.

Some FTS from today.
P1030694.JPG

P1030693.JPG

Gave the tank a WC. Starting to do it more often and it's definitely helping. Also need to get some chaeto going in the refugium soon. Here are some photos under the hood. Just keeping it simple down there.

I've ensured all wires come down to the sump from above to ensure no water can drop down to plugs etc.
My sump has essentially zero salt creep as well which I believe is due to the use of the Herbie overflow. Will not ever do a tank again without a Herbie overflow.
