All dosers fully recalibrated (I only got a couple set back up the other day) :)

Question for @Ron Reefman - do you know if gulf coast's (live-plants.com) "common" RFAs are shallow water by any chance?

I know this lol.

The commons are shallow water. I ordered a few with a some some macros a while back and the patterns are awesome. Not bright under blues like the deeper ones, but pretty. The reds and greens vary from b-c grade.

Yessssss this is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I really want some shallows for the patterning.

Nah when I upgraded to this tank back in whenever that was.... All the rock on that side of the tank was actually dry rock. I did move the live over, but it stayed to the left side. Probably came in with a random coral somewhere along the way. Haven't really added anyone new to that tank in awhile though - other than popping back and forth between it and the pico.

I have found a few in my tank in some crazy places. I haven't ruled out a spawn.

I believe so. He collects his own while scuba diving for algae. BTW, I've met him a couple of times at SWFMAS Reef Conferences and he seems to be a really nice guy.

Just some rfa spam

I don't collect Ultra RFA... OK I collect them, but I collect them from sellers, not from the wild. We only snorkel in the Keys and the Ultras come from to deep for me to reach. You really need to be a scuba diver. In fact I don't even know where the wholesalers are collecting them from.

On the other hand, we have collected some 'common' RFAs in shallow water. As shallow as 18" on occasion. They can be very difficult to collect as they like to attach to rocks with deep holes to plant their foot in. We have found some attached where it was easier to get the foot loose and even a few that were so small they were attached to very small chunks of dead sps coral.

Have there been any offspring from shallow and deep water?

Not that I've found. But I only have a few common RFA and they probably haven't been mature enough to breed yet.
