A combination of the side effects of running a pet store, not having kids, and having a dog that is extremely gentle with soft toys.Dude, your dog has more toys to play with than I do!!
Hoping for good things. Positive vibes sent...Just dropped my noodle off at the vet.
Going to start playing with light settings in this tank while I wait for them to call me.
I'm just hoping they won't have to sedate him to do x-rays or something. The bottom of his toe is pretty obviously wiggly where it shouldn't be. Hoping for a quick diagnosis with no worrisome side effects so we can splint it and get him on pain killers or something. He struggles with sedationHoping for good things. Positive vibes sent...
hey D, how's your pup?
Sending hugs for the pup! Got any CBD around? It helps my old dog immensely.
No xrays (which means no sedation, yay)
Vet says maybe soft tissue damage, maybe broken toe, maybe combo of both, maybe tendon damage, definitely signs of skin infection where he started licking like a maniac.
Antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain killers for 2 weeks. If it gets worse or not better whatsoever then we'll do x-rays at that point.
He wants to lick, but apparently that blanket being on his foot is enough to throw him off and stop him.
Thanks for checking in on him.
Yes, in fact until he got the pain killers it was the only way to stop him from being crazy and licking obsessively.Sending hugs for the pup! Got any CBD around? It helps my old dog immensely.
Your urchin needs a hat!Other news: I know it's not the best out there by a long shot, but I did find a stupid cheap used uv sterilizer (one of those turbo twists 18w) with an extra unused bulb. Gonna go that route for a bit. Tomorrow is my day off so I'll pick it up after my morning hair appt & stop at the LFS on the way home to get some tubing & get it all set up at some point.
Also need to print a ring for my urchin. She keeps stealing the foam out of my feeding ring that keeps it floating properly.
If it's still there and not rusted should I just remove it? It'll function without correct?Your urchin needs a hat!
Make sure to inspect the inside of that turbo twist really carefully. Take apart the two black halves and look for the reflective coating on the inside. Unfortunately, They used a metal reflective material that is well documented for rusting out after about a year. Some people pull theirs apart and were able to tear out the material before it rusted but many did not.
The last thing you want is your uv spitting rust into the tank.
