Love my 5 micron socks Must have for me during clean up time. They do polish water pretty nice in the process.Took a page from @LRT (I think) book and ran sump water through a pump through a 5 micron sock to clean it without w/c and ew. But my sump looks a lot better from this 1/2 attempt alone. I ran out of roller and had forgotten to order an extra like normal so the tank ran a week without & a lot of detritus built up down there.
A little made its way into the display during cleaning but not too much, the roller will catch it on its way back down.
Foxface is starting to eat with everyone.
Filefish is starting to come out more.
Are you re using water in both? Can't remember! Think thats first time I seen you refer to the Pico as shroom pico as wellWaiting for water to mix and I'm going to do a small wc on the shroom pico & one on the mct....
I haven't done a wc in the 4g in an excessively long time. I was doing it from the cade, then I got lazy after I hooked up the ato and started dosing afr in there. I have no idea what parameters look like to be honest, so 10-15% is all I'm going to do to be safe as I work myself back in to not being a lazy lazy bum. We'll see how everything reacts. Are you re using water in both? Can't remember! Think thats first time I seen you refer to the Pico as shroom pico as well
Where did you find the 5 micron sock. I had to order from Amazon and it's food grade I think for brewing beer.Love my 5 micron socks Must have for me during clean up time. They do polish water pretty nice in the process.
Think I originally stole the 5 micron sock idea from @sfin52
Exactly what I didWhere did you find the 5 micron sock. I had to order from Amazon and it's food grade I think for brewing beer.
Same thing I ordered mine from Amazon. Came from China. Same material as the regular socks. I think mine are 8x17". They really are perfect for clean up. Cant really leave them in for more than a cpl days but the do serve huge purpose otherwise.Where did you find the 5 micron sock. I use them for deep cleaning a tank. Since I don't have a sump, I place it in a bucket with a 1200 maxi pump. Siphon water through sock and back into tank. Its how I delt with dinos and realized I can use it to deep clean a tank.Same thing I ordered mine from Amazon. Came from China. Same material as the regular socks. I think mine are 8x17". That's essentially what I did, used it to clean out the detritus in the sump from when the roller was out of commission.I use them for deep cleaning a tank. Lol I'm excited about your clean water!Tank cleaned up beautifully from the sump vacuum I did yesterday.
Caught the foxface chomping on some nori.
My female clown is now trying to kill my goni garden
I have not caught the new filefish going after any of the known aiptasia yet, keeping an eye on him though because he is starting to explore on his own instead of swimming with the pack.
The tank looks surprisingly empty recently, and I'm trying to figure out what changed. I can't account for any missing fish.
It's been slow going since I added them. Super slow. Slower than literally everything else. But there's been progress, every time the urchin pulled up the purple and I went to replace it I could see encrusting on the bottom side (I finally glued it in). They just all insisted on taking the long route I guess. My very old one I had in the 20 (and lost ) took a really long time to start to scroll, it had to be encrusted a certain amount first, once it satisfied that need it took off in growth, I'm hoping these 3 follow that pattern. The other two I put pictures up of one is just an encruster, I have no idea what the other one does - it was a freebie.Dam you just reminded me I was going to do that 3 monti rock thing ;Facepalm
Totally out of room now for it. I should learn to focus more.
Yours looks great!!
Beautiful! That kenya tree colony is massive. These 3 should start to take off soon, it's been slow going while they've encrusted on the underside of their plugs to touch the base of the shelf (it was a tiny gap, they still insisted). I've been watching closely and all 3 are starting to hit the shelf now.
Forgot this guy existed. He's hit Rock as well.
This one recently took off, you can also see the gorg starting to encrust on the rock here too. And, peep my randomly appearing bivalve over in the top left. This was dry rock, idk where it came from but it's grown a ton since I discovered it back in the 90.
This not real weeping willow kept falling from where I kept placing it so I left it here. Grown quite a bit. I'm not upset, still has way longer polyps than the other toadstools I have.
Couple wider angle shots
Thanks, It's actually a Blue Solomon Tree, and it is one single tree not a group of them. They look very similar, but they don't branch off and create a bunch of their own frags or overrun the tank.Beautiful! That kenya tree colony is massive.
