I have a mix tank now LPS in SPS. I am setting up a dedicated SPS tank. And currently I spot feed all my corals with something similar to reef chili. I also notice corals wanting to eat in the morning as well.
Your way seems great. Have you noticed any adverse effects to phosphates or nitrates ?
Keep us updated.
Non noted so far. I went into a little more detail in a comment above. I used to spot feed, but I worry about dunking my arm into the tank all the time. Maybe it's time for a Julian's Thing! What do you use to feed?

I use the squeez bottle that comes with the Reef Chilli and get the acrylic tube. I cut the tip of bottle so that the tube fits tightly in about 1/2" and target feed all corals, pumps off. I do this just about daily when lights out. I where gloves so no skin touches water. Works great!

Quick little update. After day four I didn't notice anymore significant increase in PE (day or night). Recently started battling a little cyano too, so I'm thinking daily overfeeding is probably unecessary. My plan is to dial it back to four days a week feeding the same three big scoops around 0600. I feel that this will be enough to keep the corals happy and looking for food, without the excess nutrients causing my current cyano problem!
