Tank Specs:

-Marineland 93G Cube (30x30x24")
-Custom sump
-Custom stand

-Vertex IN-180 Skimmer

-Giesemann Infiniti 250W MH Fixture (+ 4x24W T-5's)

-Vortech MP-40W ES

Fish:
1x Golden Rhomboid Wrasse
1x Melanarus Wrasse
1x Scott's Fairy Wrasse
1x Yellow Coris Wrasse
1x Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse
1x Rose-band Fairy Wrasse
1x Yellow Belly Hippo Tang
2x Green Chromis
3x Blue-Eyed Cardinal Fish

Corals:
SPS dominated, with a few LPS and Zoas

30-35lbs Live Sand
60-70lbs Live Rock

I originally started the tank off with two Aquaillumination SOL White LED units ... but to be honest with everyone I was NOT completely satisfied overall with the color and growth I saw out of my SPS ... so I switched back to MH. I will definitely give LED's another try in the future, but for the time being I am keeping my good ol' fashioned halides.

Enjoy!

Duncan Colony (started off as 11 heads, now like 30+. I got them from Manhattan Aquariums back in April or so.)

I really need to get a top down shot of that Undata ... it's been with me for the last 2 1/2 years or so. Started out as nothing, and then all of a sudden took off and has been growing out of control since then. I have cut the thing maybe 5-6 times already.

Does the fixture give good coverage on the 30 x 30? I'm thinking about switching away from the 2 AI units I have over my 93. This is the fixture I'm leaning towards.

Wow ... it's been so long since I updated this thread. Well, this tank has gone through a number of changes, corals, fish, etc.etc. It's just a never-ending process!

Here are some recent photos of the tank! The first FTS is taken under an Ushio 20K, however I recently switched it out with an XM 10K bulb, just trying it out to see how my SPS grow under it. I am going to try out a Giesemann Megachrome 14K in the coming months as well. :)

Looks very good
Thank you very much. It's definitely been my favorite tank that I have owned thus far. I want to look into upgrading it in the next year. Most likely a larger cube ... I would love for it to be a custom rimless tank!

Random Acropora I picked up from the LFS ... not sure as to the species ... I think it's A. Navini. Only time will tell (hopefully). :)

Wow. The tank is looking good, the birdnest is awesome.

I got that Birdsnest from Dr. Mac just about 2 years ago ... it took a while before it really started to grow in, but now I am constantly fragging it back since it grows sooooooo quickly.

Here is a shot of the female flame wrasse I picked up sometime last week. Her and the male are really starting to warm up to each other.

i see you went from led back to halide? .. didnt like the LED's? were those AI Sol's?

Yes! I wasn't overly thrilled with the color I was getting from the Sol whites, at least at the time that I owned them. I still want to try an LED unit, maybe I will pick one up before the summer. Ecotech or the new AI Vegas.

Great looking tank!
Thanks for the compliment!

Purdy tank! :D

Thank you for checking out my tank thread Rev!
I am picking up a Giesemann Megachrome 14K bulb tonight off of a friend. I am curious to see how it runs on the Giesemann ballast. I like the XM 10K ... but I don't love it! lol.
